We collect as little information about you as we can. This page explains what we hold, why we hold it and how long we keep it.
When You Buy the Audiobook
All payments are handled by PayPal. We never see or store your card or bank details.
PayPal gives us the email address on your PayPal account so that we can email you a download link. We use it to send that email and do not store the address itself. We keep only a scrambled copy (a salted cryptographic hash), which lets us recognise your email address if you ask for a new download link.
We also keep your PayPal transaction reference, the date and price of your purchase, and the number of times you have downloaded the audiobook. As with any PayPal payment, your name and email address also appear in the transaction records of our PayPal account.
Requesting a New Download Link
The email address you enter is used only to find your purchase and send you the link. It is not stored.
Contacting Us
Messages sent with the contact form (your name, email address and message) are emailed to us and are not stored on the website.
IP Addresses
We record IP addresses to protect the website from abuse, such as repeated requests or shared download links. They are deleted automatically after 7 days and are not shared with anyone.
Cookies
This website sets one cookie, and only on pages with a form (Buy Now, Re-download and Contact).
Its name begins with .AspNetCore.Antiforgery. It holds a random security code that
stops other websites submitting forms on your behalf. It contains no information about you, is not
used for tracking, and is deleted when you close your browser.
Because this cookie is strictly necessary to keep the website secure, UK law does not require us to ask for your consent. We do not use analytics, advertising or any other third-party cookies.
When you click Buy Now you go to PayPal's website, which sets its own cookies. See PayPal's cookie statement.
Why We Use Your Information
- To supply the audiobook you bought and let you download it again (to fulfil our contract with you).
- To keep the website secure and prevent fraud and abuse (our legitimate interests).
- To reply to your messages (our legitimate interests).
- To keep the financial records the law requires (our legal obligations).
Who Sees Your Information
PayPal processes your payment under its own privacy statement. Our website, database and email are hosted in the UK. We never sell your information or share it for marketing.
How Long We Keep It
- Purchase records (email hash, transaction reference, date, price and download count): kept so that you can download the audiobook again, and for at least six years to meet UK tax and accounting rules.
- IP addresses: 7 days.
- Contact form messages: only as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry.
- Activity logs (for example, when a purchase or download took place): kept for security and audit purposes, with IP addresses removed after 7 days.
Your Rights
Under the UK GDPR you can ask to see the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. To do this, please contact us and tell us the email address you used for your purchase. We need it to find your records, because we do not store the address itself. We may have to keep transaction records to meet our legal obligations even if you ask us to delete them.
